New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Lok Sabha. This budget is the first budget to be prepared in Kartavya Bhavan. In her speech, the Finance Minister outlined the three main duties of the government and stated that the innovative ideas of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are the cornerstone of this budget. In her speech, Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the government has three main duties:

Maintaining rapid and sustainable economic growth - Continuously accelerating the country's economic progress is the government's primary responsibility.

Fulfilling people's aspirations and building capabilities -  It is essential to focus on the development and skill enhancement of every citizen.

Development in accordance with the vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" -  Ensuring that the benefits of development reach all sections of society.

Three Key Requirements for a Supportive Environment

The Finance Minister stated that three key requirements are necessary to ensure the success of this three-pronged approach:

Maintaining the pace of structural reforms conducive and progressive -  to make the economic system more efficient and resilient.

Laying the foundation for efficient capital allocation and risk management - ​​to ensure the correct and effective use of resources.

Using AI and cutting-edge technologies for good governance - maximizing the use of new technologies and digital tools in governance.

Emphasis on Job Creation and Reforms

In her speech, the Finance Minister stated that the government has undertaken comprehensive reforms to accelerate job creation and growth. Following the Prime Minister's announcement, more than 350 economic reforms have been implemented. These include GST simplification, the notification of labor codes, and collaboration between the central and state governments through high-level committees. She stated that this reform train is rapidly on its way.

In this budget, Nirmala Sitharaman conveyed the message of prioritizing economic growth, technological innovation, and social inclusion. He said that the objective of the budget is not just numbers or financial management, but to ensure development and participation of all.
