Three fugitives allegedly linked to Bambiha Gang have been deported from Malaysia (Img: X)
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced that three fugitives allegedly linked to the Bambiha Gang have been deported from Malaysia and brought back to India.
The accused Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh were wanted in connection with several serious criminal cases, including extortion, cross-border arms trafficking, narco-trafficking and an alleged failed grenade attack in Ludhiana.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian agencies coordinated with Malaysian authorities to track down the accused and complete the deportation process.
The three accused were brought back to India and handed over to the concerned police authorities. Investigators are expected to question them regarding their alleged role in criminal activities and their links with the wider gang network.
The agencies are also likely to probe their international connections and possible involvement in arms and drug trafficking routes.
Amit Shah’s office said that Indian agencies have facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals in 2026 alone as part of efforts to ensure a safer India.
The Home Minister highlighted that security agencies are working continuously to bring back criminals who flee abroad to escape legal action.
The latest deportation comes amid increased efforts by Indian agencies to track down fugitives hiding in foreign countries.
Earlier in May 2026, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), along with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, brought back two wanted fugitives from the United Arab Emirates.
One of them was wanted in a major banking fraud case, while another was accused in a fake passport racket.
