Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh: A food safety inspection at a sweet shop in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur took an unexpected turn when the shop owner refused to eat sweets being sold from his own outlet. The unusual moment, captured on video, has sparked reactions on social media.

The incident took place after officials received complaints alleging the sale of adulterated and poor-quality sweets at the shop. Acting on the complaints, a team led by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), along with Food Department officials and police personnel, reached the shop for inspection.

During the raid, officials checked the sweets kept for sale and collected samples for laboratory testing. In the middle of the inspection, a police officer reportedly offered a sweet to the shop owner and asked him to taste it.

Shopkeeper refused to eat the sweet

However, the shopkeeper refused to eat the sweet. Instead, he folded his hands and declined the offer, creating an awkward moment that was caught on camera.

The refusal quickly became the highlight of the video, with many viewers questioning why a person selling sweets would hesitate to consume his own products.

Samples Collected, Sweets Ordered To Be Destroyed

Following the inspection, authorities collected samples of the sweets for further examination. The SDM also ordered that the suspected sweets be removed and discarded amid concerns over their quality and safety.

Officials said further action would be taken based on the results of the sample testing.

The video of the incident has since gone viral, with social media users sharing mixed reactions. While some questioned the shopkeeper’s response, others said the incident highlighted concerns over food safety and the need for strict monitoring of food products. The authorities have not yet released the final report of the collected samples.
