New Delhi: Bollywood music composer Sachin Sanghvi, part of the popular duo Sachin-Jigar and known for hit songs in films like Stree 2 and Bhediya, was arrested on Thursday following allegations of sexual assault.
The arrest was made under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to a police official cited by news agency PTI.

The complainant, a woman in her 20s, alleged that she first came in contact with Sanghvi in February 2024 through a message he sent her on Instagram. According to her statement, Sanghvi promised her a chance to feature in his upcoming music album. The two later exchanged phone numbers and maintained communication over the following months.
The woman claimed that Sanghvi called her to his studio under the pretext of discussing the album. She alleged that during these meetings, Sanghvi proposed marriage to her and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. Following her complaint, a police investigation was initiated, which ultimately led to Sanghvi’s arrest.
Sachin Sanghvi, who has composed chart-topping songs for several Bollywood films, has not made any public statements regarding the allegations. His legal representatives have confirmed they are reviewing the matter, but have not shared further details.
