Farrukhabad: A man was killed in a police encounter on Friday morning, who allegedly raped and murdered an eight-year-old girl in Farrukhabad district, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

After the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in the district, the police took strict action to surround the accused.

The police received information from an informer that the accused was hiding in a locality of Farrukhabad.

According to the information received by the Dynamite News correspondent, after this the police started an operation to surround him. The accused opened fire on the police, but the police retaliated and injured him. He was later taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Cases registered against the accused

The accused was identified as Manu, a resident of Mohammadabad Kotwali. He was accused of murder, kidnapping, and other serious crimes. According to SP Aarti Singh, the police were searching for the accused for several days. The accused was accused of kidnapping an 8-year-old girl and then killing her.

Identification of the accused from CCTV

On June 27, the girl came to her maternal grandmother's house in Kotwali Mohammadabad area, but she suddenly disappeared. The next day, on June 28, the body of the girl was recovered in Bhogaon area of ​​Mainpuri. The police identified the accused from CCTV footage, which showed that the accused Manu was taking the girl ahead on a bicycle. After this footage, the police intensified the action and formed more than six teams to catch the accused.

The pain of the family

The girl's parents were in deep shock after this incident. The girl's father told that he had three children and the dead girl was his third daughter. After the incident, the family members started crying bitterly at the postmortem house. The girl's mother had lost her balance and became distraught. The girl's last rites were performed in the village and during this time there was an atmosphere of grief in the whole village.

In the last 8 years, the police in Uttar Pradesh have conducted 14,973 encounters in which 238 criminals were killed in encounters. In these encounters, 30,694 criminals were arrested, and 9,467 criminals were shot in the legs. The highest number of encounters took place in Meerut zone of UP, where 7,969 criminals were arrested and 2,911 were injured. Many encounters also took place in Agra zone and Bareilly zone, in which hundreds of criminals were arrested and injured.
