Mumbai: Reports are emerging about the passing of Indian cinema legend and Bollywood’s original “He-Man,” Dharmendra, from Mumbai. The 89-year-old actor had been unwell and facing respiratory complications. News of his alleged demise has sent a wave of grief across the nation. The entire Deol family has reached the crematorium, along with industry icons including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and several other Bollywood celebrities. The Deol family is expected to issue an official statement shortly.

According to a news agency, multiple media outlets and TV channels have reported Dharmendra’s death. There are also claims that his mortal remains were taken to the Vile Parle crematorium, where several Bollywood stars gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the legendary actor known as the “He-Man of Bollywood.”
As per reports, Sunny Deol, his elder son, performed the last rites and lit the funeral pyre.
Dharmendra remained active in films until the final years of his life. He recently appeared in Karan Johar’s film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, earning widespread praise for his performance. He was also set to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, in the upcoming film Ikkis. Dharmendra was about to celebrate his 90th birthday on December 8.
Earlier this year, he underwent eye surgery. After returning from the hospital, he told the media, “I am strong; there is still life left in Dharmendra.” His vivacious spirit will continue to live in the hearts of his fans.
Dharmendra made his Bollywood debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. By the 1970s, he had become one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars. Films like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, An Milo Sajna, and Dream Girl made him immortal. Known for his fitness, action sequences, and romantic charm, he is still remembered as the “He-Man of Bollywood.”

Apart from films, Dharmendra also ventured into politics. In 2004, he was elected as a Member of Parliament from Bikaner representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His humility and connection with the people remain deeply remembered.
