Priyanka Chopra revealed she never intended to leave Bollywood but felt pushed to seek opportunities in Hollywood during her career peak. The actress said she wanted more creative growth and global exposure.
Priyanka Opens Up About Moving to the US at Career Peak
Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra, who has achieved global recognition through her career in both Hollywood and Bollywood, recently opened up about her career and her decision to leave Bollywood for Hollywood. She said that she loved working in Hindi films, but was forced to seek opportunities abroad.
In an interview Priyanka said, "I don't think I ever wanted to leave Bollywood. Working in Hindi films made me feel limited and wanted to move forward. I was inspired to seek opportunities that were exciting for me as an artist. Working in America was a new experience for me."
Priyanka explained that she loves working in both industries. She said, "I've never been able to choose between them. The two industries are different, but now my mind is open to working in both. It's a unique experience."
In 2012, while pursuing her music and acting careers, Priyanka began exploring opportunities in Hollywood. She played the lead role in the TV show Quantico. She then played supporting roles in films like Baywatch and The Matrix Resurrections. She will now be seen in major international projects like Citadel, Heads of State, and The Bluff.
Priyanka's upcoming film, The Bluff, is a pirate adventure film, releasing on Amazon Prime Video on February 25th. Priyanka will also be seen in S.S. Rajamouli's Varanasi, which will release in theaters in April 2027. The film also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Priyanka Chopra also shared that working in both industries has been an opportunity for her to learn and gain experience. She said that acting in both Hollywood and Bollywood has been a valuable part of her career.
