New Delhi: For most of us bread is the top choice for breakfast among all the options. But today there are multiple varieties of bread available in the market like White Bread, Brown Bread, Atta Bread, Multigrain Bread, Millet Bread and then there are flavoured Breads as Ginger Garlic Bread, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Amidst this number of varieties, choosing the best one which can balance between our weight and health is really confusing.
Therefore let's discuss about each one of the available Breads.
White bread is the most common type of Bread made from refined wheat flour. That means the bran and germ layers are removed during milling of the wheat.
As a results, this bread has a lighter colour and a softer texture compared to whole wheat bread. White bread can be a quick and easy source of carbohydrates. However it is generally less nutritious because of the removal of fiber and other beneficial nutrients.
Brown Bread is a type of bread made with whole wheat flour, often giving it a darker colour than the white bread. Generally it is considered a better option due to its higher fiber and nutrient content compared to white bread.
However, not all Brown Breads are made equal. Some of them may contain added colours or/and refined flour. Therefore it is advised that ingredients printed on the bread cover must be checked.
Atta Bread, also known as 100% Whole Wheat Bread, is made from whole wheat flour (atta). It is considered a healthier alternative to refined flour bread.
It is generally made with atta, yeast, water, and a touch of sweetener or salt. Atta bread is normally rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Therefore it offers more nutritional benefits like aiding digestion and providing sustained energy.
Multigrain Bread is a recent inclusion in the variety of breads. This Bread is made with two or more types of grains, including options like wheat, barley, oats, and rye.
It often contains seeds like flax, pumpkin, and sunflower. Multigrain bread is a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is generally lower in glycemic index than white bread.
Millets are a group of small-seeded grasses such as jowar, bajra, ragi, kodo and kutki. They are grown worldwide for human food and animal fodder.
This millet bread is naturally gluten-free and vegan, it is soft, fluffy, moist, and so easy to make! It is light, and has a delicate crumb.
Honestly speaking all varieties of breads are consumed by all varieties of people. Therefore basically it's your choice and taste that may help you the best to pick your choice.
However if you are 'conscious' of your health and routine, you must check the ingredients printed on the bread cover.
Normally people believe that 'whole wheat' or 'whole grain' bread carries more nutritional benefits than simply white bread. But in a layman's language it can be said that the best bread is the one that gives you the feelings of fullness and richness. And it is definitely an individual choice.
