Vijaywada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will leave for Davos today, January 18 to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026. The four-day visit, from January 19 to 22, will see the Chief Minister engaging with global leaders, industry captains, and policymakers to showcase Andhra Pradesh as a prime investment destination.

Accompanied by ministers and senior officials, Naidu is scheduled to take part in as many as 36 programmes during the visit, including high-level meetings, panel discussions, and media interactions.

Journey Begins with Diplomatic and Diaspora Engagements

On the first day, the Chief Minister will travel from Vijayawada to Delhi and onward to Zurich. In Zurich, he will meet the Indian Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar, and hold discussions with Kishore Lulla of Eros Innovation and other senior executives.

Later in the evening, Naidu will address a Telugu Diaspora meet organised by the Indian Embassy. The event is expected to be attended by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from nearly 20 countries, providing an opportunity to strengthen ties with the global Telugu community.

Key Meetings and Global Interactions in Davos

Following the Zurich engagements, Naidu will proceed to Davos, where he will participate in discussions with UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, and CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee. He is also scheduled to give an exclusive interview to Politico.

On the second day, the Chief Minister will attend a CII-hosted breakfast session titled “India at the Center of Geographic Growth – AP Advantage” and participate in the inauguration of the India Lounge.

Focus on Technology, Innovation and Investment

Naidu will hold one-on-one meetings with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, along with HRD, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh. He will also attend a panel discussion at the AP Lounge and give an interview to CNBC International.

Chandrababu Naidu suggests formation of three sub-groups for nation’s growth

Meetings are planned with officials from the World Intellectual Property Organization, Swiss government representatives, Nvidia executives, and Israeli ministers. In the evening, he will interact with JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal and Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc.

Keynote Addresses and Policy Dialogues

On the third day, the Chief Minister will attend sessions on industrial development, regenerative food systems, climate financing, and infrastructure growth. He will deliver a keynote address at Bloomberg’s session on “AI Transforming the Global Economy” and participate in discussions on sustainable growth and India’s infrastructure initiatives alongside Union ministers.

Overall, the Davos visit is aimed at attracting investments, fostering global partnerships, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for innovation-led growth.
