India Reacts After Drone Strike in UAE Injures Three Indians in Fujairah
New Delhi: India on Tuesday strongly condemned a drone-linked attack that led to a fire at an oil facility in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. The incident resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals, triggering concern from Indian authorities. The government described the attack as “unacceptable” and called for immediate steps to de-escalate tensions.
The blaze broke out at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone following a drone strike reportedly attributed to Iran. According to local authorities cited in reports, the three injured Indians suffered moderate injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs urged an immediate halt to violence, particularly attacks targeting civilian infrastructure. The ministry emphasised that innocent lives must not be put at risk and reiterated India’s position against such actions.
Highlighting the broader West Asia conflict, India stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. The government reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful solutions, aiming to restore stability in a region witnessing rising geopolitical tensions.
India also raised concerns about disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil and gas supply. Escalating tensions, including reported naval restrictions, have impacted international trade and energy prices, affecting economies in both Europe and Asia.
Earlier, the Embassy of India in UAE confirmed that the injured nationals are receiving proper medical care. Officials stated they are in close contact with local authorities to ensure the well-being and safety of those affected.
