New Delhi: The Indian government continues to take tough measures against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. In this sequence, more than 16 Pakistani YouTube channels and news media platforms have been banned in India on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The government says that these channels were spreading anti-India propaganda and broadcasting false news against security agencies, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Which channels are banned?
The banned channels include major media houses and independent creators of Pakistan, such as
Dawn News
Samaa TV, ARY News, Bol News
Shoaib Akhtar's sports channel
GNA News, Umar Cheema Exclusive
Suno News, Rajinama
Apart from these, some cricket and other entertainment channels have also been blocked. The Indian government said these channels threaten the country's security and will be banned until further notice.
Such steps were taken earlier as well
Earlier, the Indian government had also blocked the Twitter (x) account of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Also, the Indus Water Treaty was suspended, the Wagah border was closed, and Pakistani citizens were ordered to leave India.
Pakistan's response
Pakistan called these steps of India "invalid" and threatened that breaking the Indus Water Treaty would be considered an "act of war". They ordered Indian citizens to leave the country in 48 hours and closed their airspace to Indian airlines.
Further action
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have raided 15 locations where suspected links of terrorists associated with PoK have been found. Ceasefire violations by Pakistan are also continuing on the LoC, to which the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply.
The Indian government has made it clear that any activity against the security and sovereignty of the country will not be tolerated. Under this, surveillance on social media has been increased, and strict action is being taken against those making inflammatory statements.
