New Delhi: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who added a new chapter to India's space history, is soon going to return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS). He successfully carried out the 14-day 'Akash Ganga' mission and now his return journey will begin on July 14, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
In some exclusive pictures from space, Group Captain Shukla and his three other crew members were seen eating and smiling in zero gravity. These scenes were shared by NASA. Even while living in space, he kept the warmth of the ground and Indian tradition alive.

Steve Stich, manager of NASA Commercial Crew Program, said in a press conference that we are working on the station program and are monitoring the progress of the Axiom-4 mission. The current plan for undocking is July 14. With this statement, the process of Group Captain Shukla's return to Earth has been confirmed.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is the first person from India to reach the International Space Station. Before him, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma went to space in 1984, but he was part of the Soviet mission. Shukla conducted seven scientific experiments during this mission, which are considered to be a milestone for India's Gaganyaan human space flight mission.

In the last phase of his mission, Group Captain Shukla played the role of a farmer. He grew moong and fenugreek in a petri dish, pictures of which were also shared. These seeds have been kept safe in the freezer so that further experiments can be done on Earth.
The main objective of this experiment is to know how microgravity in space affects seed germination and plant growth. These seeds will be grown for several generations so that possible changes in genetics and nutritional profile can be studied.
The success of the 'Akash Ganga' mission is a matter of pride for India. This mission was not only technically successful, but it has also given direction to India's future space missions like Gaganyaan. The return of Group Captain Shukla is being eagerly awaited across the country.
