Alert issued at Nepal border
Kathmandu: Following the recent youth movement (Gen-Z), Nepal has witnessed increased activity from the terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. After failing to infiltrate India from the Pakistan border, these two organizations may now attempt to enter India through Nepal. Following this information, an alert has been issued along the Nepal border, and security agencies have increased their vigilance.
Security agencies are also closely monitoring the activities of sleeper cells of these two terrorist organizations. A seminar organized by the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Partnership (NIICE) in Kathmandu on July 10th expressed concern about the possibility of infiltration through Nepal. These organizations also receive support from local groups such as the Islamic Association of Nepal (ISN) and Work for Nepal. Both organizations are receiving financial and shelter support from the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu.

Former IB officer Santosh Singh stated that the background for terrorist activities in Nepal had been building since February. In February, the ISN held a two-day gathering in Sunsari, attended by Pakistani and Bangladeshi suspects. This is being linked to a conspiracy to change the demographics of India's border areas. Plans are being made to exploit the youth movement to facilitate cross-border infiltration. Efforts are also being made to create an anti-India sentiment in Nepal, similar to that of Bangladesh.
Former Nepali Congress MP Abhishek Pratap Shah stated that serious concerns were expressed about the open India-Nepal border at the NIICE seminar held in Kathmandu on July 10. Nepal's then-Presidential Advisor Sunil Bahadur Thapa stated that Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Al-Qaeda were using Nepal for anti-India activities.
