New Delhi: US President Donald Trump, who returned to Washington leaving the G-7 summit midway, said that Iran is now very close to making nuclear weapons. He said that he wants a permanent and decisive end to the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel.
Trump also said that it is very important to stop Iran from moving towards nuclear weapons, and Tehran will have to fully bow down on this issue, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
"We want better than just a ceasefire," Trump said
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Trump made it clear that he is not satisfied with just a ceasefire but wants a concrete and complete solution beyond that. He rejected reports that he had returned early from the G-7 summit just to work on a ceasefire.

However, it is being reported that he had returned to Washington leaving the G-7 summit midway to work on ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Israel-Iran conflict at its peak
Trump warned that if Iran attacks American soldiers in the Middle East, America is fully prepared. Violent conflict has been going on between Israel and Iran for the last five days.
Iran on Tuesday carried out an airstrike on the headquarters of Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, as well as targeting the building of military intelligence agency AMAN.
Israel's counterattack
In response to this attack, Israel carried out air strikes in western Tehran. In this, Iran's senior military officer, Major General Ali Shadmani, was killed. Shadmani had recently become the head of the Khatam-al-Anbiya military headquarters and was considered very close to the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
