Iran Target Marco Rubio Over His Taj Mahal Visit (Img: Internet)
New Delhi: The Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad is upset with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This happened after he visited the Taj Mahal in Agra. Marco Rubio is currently visiting India. He posted pictures with his wife at the Taj Mahal.
Marco Rubio posted pictures from the Taj Mahal on Monday. The pictures showed him and his wife Jeanette Rubio sitting at the viewing bench. He just wanted to share a moment from his trip to India.. The Iranian consulate did not like it.
If Rubio knew the history or architecture, he wouldn't have posed for a picture here. This monument was built out for the love of emperor's Iranian wife, crafted by the genius of Iranian architects — meanwhile his government today threatens to wipe out Iranian civilization,… pic.twitter.com/zi4CNU3u7U

The Iranian consulate said that if Marco Rubio knew the history of the Taj Mahal he would not have taken pictures there. They said the Taj Mahal was built because a Mughal emperor loved his wife. They also said that Iranian architects helped design the Taj Mahal.
Iranian consulate was not just talking about the Taj Mahal. They were also saying that the United States is not treating culture with respect. They said that while the Taj Mahal shows that different cultures can come together the United States is threatening culture.
The Taj Mahal was built in 1632 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. He built it for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is an example of Mughal architecture with a lot of Persian influence. Mumtaz Mahal was born into a noble family. Her family had people who worked in the Mughal courts. They came from places like Tehran and Qazvin.
The Taj Mahal has Persian design elements. It has a dome and intricate marble work. The garden is also designed in a Persian style.
The Taj Mahal also has Qur’anic calligraphy written by a calligrapher. His name was Abdul-Haq from Shiraz. He was given the title Amanat Khan by Shah Jahan. The Taj Mahal is a mix of art and Indian craftsmanship. It shows that different cultures can come together.
This exchange has added to the tense relationship between the US and Iran. The cultural symbolism is now part of a political message. Marco Rubio was just visiting India but the consulates response has made it a bigger diplomatic issue. The Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad is still upset with Marco Rubio. The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is, at the center of this controversy.
