What is indigenous method of mosquito repellent?

The video explains that this method requires only a few simple ingredients. First, an onion is cut in half and shaped into a lamp. Mustard oil is then poured into the onion.

A cotton wick is then placed in the onion and lit like a lamp. The video claims that within five minutes of burning it, mosquitoes begin to die and their corpses appear on the floor. The man claims that this method is completely natural and does not use any chemicals, so it is considered safe for health.

Comedy Reactions on Social Media

This video is going viral on social media. So far, it has received over 1.5 million views and over 50,000 likes.

Comedy reactions are also being seen in the comments section. One user wrote, "Brother, you turned out to be a genius." Another user jokingly asked, "After the mosquitoes run away, can we make a vegetable from this onion?"

Another user laughingly wrote, "Burning this will make the mosquitoes cry, and so will I because of the onion." However, after trying it, some people said that this method looks interesting, but is not as effective as the video suggests.

Does this method really work?

Experts say caution is advised before adopting such viral home remedies. Not every method is equally effective everywhere. However, such improvised videos on social media often entertain people and can sometimes prove useful.
