AI Express grounds pilot over assault on passenger

New Delhi: Air India Express has suspended a senior pilot after he allegedly assaulted a passenger in front of his family at Delhi airport. He was rostered for duty on Friday.

The passenger Ankit Dewan, shared his experience on social media along with a photograph showing blood on his face after the altercation with the pilot. Ankit shared a photograph of the pilot also.

Air India Express said that it was aware of the incident at the Delhi airport between one of its employees and a passenger. The employee was travelling as a passenger on another airline and indulged in an altercation with another passenger.

he Air India Express said in a statement said, "We unequivocally condemn such behaviour. The employee concerned has been removed from official duties with immediate effect, pending investigation. Appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated based on the findings of the inquiry."
