Akhilesh Yadav reacts to the Bihar election results, questions EVM credibility, accuses BJP of narrative manipulation, and asserts that Uttar Pradesh politics is different from Bihar. He says SP is fully prepared for the upcoming UP elections.
Akhilesh Yadav's Statement on the Bihar Elections
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav expressed his clear opinion on the defeat of the Grand Alliance in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
He stated that the political situations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are completely different. He said, "UP is not Bihar"—meaning the defeat of the Grand Alliance in Bihar will not affect Uttar Pradesh.
Akhilesh explained that he himself campaigned in Bihar and did not sense any possibility of defeat during the election campaign. He was fully confident that Tejashwi Yadav would become the Chief Minister. He said that both the public and the atmosphere seemed to be in favor of the Grand Alliance, which is why the results were surprising.
Akhilesh Yadav also questioned the reliability of EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines). He claimed that malfunctions were observed in EVMs at several places, and this issue is becoming increasingly serious.
Akhilesh clearly stated that "EVMs will have to be removed one day," meaning that elections will need to be conducted using ballot papers in the future.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav attacks the BJP government
He also alleged that Rs. 10,000 was distributed to people during the elections, which affected the election results. He said that now that the elections are over, the Bihar government is not providing that amount, which is a betrayal of the public.
Referring to election strategist Prashant Kishor, Akhilesh said that his party's defeat showed the ground reality. He said that the BJP is adept at creating narratives—whether through songs, AI-generated videos, or any other propaganda material. The Samajwadi Party is vigilant and will not fall into the BJP's narrative trap.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the Uttar Pradesh elections are completely different from Bihar and the SP is seriously preparing for the elections in the state. He said that his party is working cautiously and will not be misled by any political illusions.
In an interview, when asked about visiting the Ram Temple, Akhilesh reiterated that he will go "when God wills it." Regarding the Kedareswar temple under construction in Etawah, he said that the work would be completed by the next month of Shravan.
