New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the growing economic importance of the Northeast and its role in India’s future development at the ICC Global Business Summit 2026. He spoke about the region’s transformation, investment opportunities and its emerging position in the country’s growth journey.
Addressing industry leaders and business representatives, Sarma emphasised that the Northeast is no longer viewed only as a geographically distant region but as a key contributor to India’s economic expansion.
The Assam Chief Minister highlighted the region’s potential in sectors including infrastructure, connectivity, energy, tourism, agriculture and industry.
