Dehradun: The sacred portals of Badrinath Dham were ceremoniously opened on Sunday amid the spiritual chants of “Jai Badrivishal," reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Thousands of devotees flocked to the Temple for darshan and to seek blessings of Shri Badrivishal.

Radha Krishna Thapliyal, Dharmadhikari of Badrinath Dham, said that its an important day for all of us.

Thapliyal said, "Today is an important day because people wait for six months to pray in the temple. First prayers are offered for the well-being of everyone, then the pious portals of the Lord are opened. Uttarakhand Chief Minister prayed for the well-being of the state. Prime Minister and Uttarakhand CM perform 'poojan' here on behalf of the nation."

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present for the occasion. He the first to offer prayers after the temple gates reopened.

The whole ambience was filled with devotion as bhajans were sung and flower petals were showered from helicopters on the devotees.

The Army band from the Garhwal Rifles played devotional music, making the whole atmosphere filled with devotion.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj, while speaking on this auspicious occasion, said, “Today, the entire nation rejoices. Badrinath Dham is a source of divine bliss, and I urge devotees to visit in large numbers and experience its spiritual energy.”

Kedar Dham

Dehradun: The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on Friday. As soon as the doors opened, devotees saw the Akhand Jyoti burning inside the temple, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

With the opening of doors the whole Kedarghati echoed with the chants of 'Har Har Mahadev'. After the opening ceremony, Rudrabhishek, Shivashtak, Shiva Tandava Stotra and Kedarashtak mantras were chanted.

The Chief Rawal Bhimshankar of Veerashaiva Lingayat community of Karnataka was the first to reach the temple. After this, the Bhishma Shringar that was offered to Baba six months ago was removed.

The Holy Kedarnath Temple has been decorated with 108 quintals of a large varieties of flowers including roses and marigold flowers brought from several countries like Nepal, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

This year more than 25 lakh devotees are expected to reach Kedarnath Dham to have darshan and seek blessings of 'Baba Kedar'.

The Chardham Yatra started from 30 April on the day of Akshay Tritiya. The doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham have already opened. The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 4 May.
