New Delhi: Delhi Police's Special Cell has achieved a major success by arresting five terrorists associated with a Pakistani module. After this arrest, anti-terrorism squads have also recovered material used in making IEDs by conducting raids in several states. The terrorists involved in this module were in contact with Pakistan-based operators through social media and were radicalizing the youth in India.

Investigation has revealed that this module was being operated by a suspect named Ashraf Danish, who hails from Bokaro and was arrested from Ranchi. He was the leader of a network linked to the Islamic State (ISIS), whose code name was 'CEO'. Danish being on the radar of security agencies for several months shows the seriousness of this entire network.
The accused were connected to Pakistan-based operators through social media and encrypted platforms. They were active in inciting youth in India towards radicalism and including them in their network. The police have detained several suspects in this regard and started interrogation.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police, along with Jharkhand ATS and Ranchi Police, raided more than 12 locations including Tabarak Lodge in Lower Bazaar, Ranchi. During this, several suspects were arrested and explosive material was recovered. Mumbai-based terrorist Aftab, who was an important part of this module, was also arrested from Delhi.

Aftab was arrested on September 9, when he was found plotting a major terrorist attack in Delhi. Incriminating documents and digital devices have been recovered from his possession.
