Landslides hits several parts of Himachal
Shimla: Heavy rains and heavy rains that started on Sunday amid red alert in Himachal Pradesh have caused heavy destruction. Landslides have occurred at many places, causing extensive damage. A house in the W Patwar Circle of Junga area of Shimla was hit by a landslide, in which a father Virendra Kumar (35) and his 10-year-old daughter died. His wife was outside the house at that time, so she survived safely. Cattle also died in this incident.

An elderly woman Kalavati also lost her life due to landslide in Khaneti area of Kotkhai. At the same time, a girl Kanishka died due to landslide in Bhauli village of Jubbal. Immediate assistance of Rs 30 thousand has been given to the affected family. The administration has given shelter to the affected families in nearby community centers.

According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, the rain will continue till September 7. Red alert for heavy rain has been issued in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur. Schools have also been closed in these areas.

So far 793 roads are closed due to landslides and floods in the state, as well as 2,174 power transformers and 365 water supply schemes are affected. So far 320 people have died in this monsoon season, while 379 are injured and 40 are missing. During this time thousands of houses, shops, cow shelters and livestock have also been damaged.
Heavy rains caused a landslide in Paroiyaan Kalan village of Una district, in which four cattle were buried under the debris. The Kalka-Shimla highway has also been closed due to a hill crack near Kandaghat. Water and debris entered cattle sheds in Raipur Maidan, affecting normal life.
