New Delhi: India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued an order to further tighten security checks on the entire fleet of Boeing Dreamliner aircraft after the tragic accident of Air India's London-bound flight AI171 in Ahmedabad. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent such incidents in the future.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, DGCA has directed Air India to mandatorily implement a special check procedure for all Boeing Dreamliner aircraft flying from India from midnight (00:00) of June 15.
Many checks made mandatory
Actually, under this order of DGCA, many important technical checks have been made mandatory before the flight. These include service checks of fuel parameter monitoring, the cabin air compressor system, electronic engine control tests, engine fuel actuator operation, the oil system, and the hydraulic system.
Apart from this, instructions have also been given to thoroughly review all parameters before takeoff. DGCA has also ordered that 'flight control inspection' be included in transit inspection, and this process should be continued regularly till further orders. Also, instructions have been given to mandatorily complete power assurance checks within the next two weeks.
At the same time, the DGCA has ordered Air India to conduct a detailed review of the repeated technical faults in Boeing Dreamliner aircraft in the last 15 days and to immediately complete all the maintenance work related to them.
This step has been taken with the aim of further strengthening the security system of Air India so that the safety of life and property of passengers can be ensured and such accidents can be prevented in the future.
A heart-wrenching accident happened yesterday
It is worth noting that on the previous day, on June 12, Air India flight AI171, which left for London from Ahmedabad airport, took off at 1:38 pm, but just two minutes later, at 1:40 pm, this plane crashed.
There were 242 passengers on board the plane, including 53 British, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian, and the rest were Indian citizens. According to eyewitnesses, the plane lost balance as soon as it took off and fell down rapidly and collided with a building.
After the collision, a loud explosion was heard, and a thick cloud of smoke covered the sky. This accident created a horrific scene in Ahmedabad, where debris and dead bodies were seen on the streets.
