With technological development, now the digital version of the Aadhaar card, i.e., e-Aadhaar, has also become popular among the people.
According to the information received by the Dynamite News correspondent, often the question arises in the minds of people whether any fee has to be paid for making or downloading e-Aadhaar. The answer is no, e-Aadhaar is a completely free service.
What is e-Aadhaar?
e-Aadhaar is a digital version of the Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). It contains the same information that is present in your physical Aadhaar card. It is a secure document in PDF format. Which can be downloaded from the official website of UIDAI or the mAadhaar app.
Downloading e-Aadhaar is absolutely free
UIDAI provides the facility of downloading e-Aadhaar absolutely free of cost. Any citizen can download e-Aadhaar by visiting the UIDAI website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and entering their Aadhaar number or enrollment ID.
How to download e-Aadhaar?
This file is password protected, in which the password is the first four letters of your name (in capital) + year of birth (YYYY).
Is money taken anywhere?
If you download e-Aadhaar from a cyber cafe or public service center, then only a nominal fee may be charged as a printing charge. But UIDAI does not charge any fee for the download process. If someone charges you extra for downloading, then you can complain about it on UIDAI's helpline 1947.
Validity of e-Aadhaar
