Joint Operation Launched in Chatroo as Troops Engage Terrorists
Srinagar: There have been reports of an encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, a joint operation was launched after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Passerkut area, during which security forces established contact with the terrorists. Firing is currently ongoing from both sides, and the entire area has been cordoned off.

The Indian Army's White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched this joint operation. According to the Army, the encounter with terrorists began while searching suspected hideouts as part of "Operation Trashi-1."

According to sources, the terrorists involved in the encounter may be affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization. However, official confirmation is still pending. Security forces have cordoned off the area to prevent the terrorists from escaping.
Security has been increased in the surrounding areas following the encounter. Additional forces have been deployed to the scene. Locals have been advised to remain in safe areas. Officials say the operation is ongoing and the situation is being continuously monitored.
Security forces say the operation will continue until all terrorists are neutralized. The operation is considered challenging in this hilly and densely forested area.
