New Delhi: Former Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on Monday after losing consciousness twice over the weekend, officials confirmed.
According to news agency PTI, the 74-year-old experienced health issues on January 10. He lost consciousness twice while using the washroom on Saturday, prompting doctors to recommend a thorough medical evaluation.

“Today, he had gone to AIIMS for a check-up when the doctors insisted that he should get admitted for tests,” an official said. Doctors are expected to conduct an MRI as part of the assessment.
Dhankhar had resigned from the post of Vice President on July 21 last year, citing health reasons. His abrupt resignation had sparked widespread speculation. Since stepping down, he has made limited public appearances.
Officials noted that Dhankhar has blacked out on multiple occasions during recent public events, including visits to the Rann of Kutch, Uttarakhand, Kerala, and New Delhi.
As of now, there has been no statement from Dhankhar or his family regarding his current health status. Authorities continue to monitor his condition closely.
