Earlier on Tuesday, the Chandigarh District Court issued a notice to Amneet P. Kumar. The police had applied to the court for permission to conduct a post-mortem. The police had to resort to the court due to the family's lack of cooperation initially.
The 31-member family committee formed in the Puran Kumar suicide case expressed satisfaction with the leave of Shatrughan Kapoor and the appointment of a new DGP. Committee Chairman, retired Associate Professor Jaynarayan, said that a peaceful march will be held from Sector 17 at 3:30 pm on Wednesday to submit a memorandum to the Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator.
During the Mahapanchayat held in Sector 20, the committee had given a 48-hour ultimatum for the arrest of the DGP and the former SP of Rohtak, which expired on Tuesday. After the meeting, Jayanarayan appealed to the organizations protesting against this incident to maintain restraint and peace and to pursue their demand for justice peacefully.
