Chandigarh: The news of the alleged suicide of senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar this week has sparked an atmosphere of grief and concern across the state.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed deep sorrow over the incident during a meeting in Panchkula district on Saturday. He described Kumar's death as "regrettable" and "very sad."
The Chief Minister assured the family of justice and said that the case would be investigated impartially.
At an event in Panchkula, the Chief Minister clearly stated that no matter how influential the perpetrator is, he will not be spared. He said, "If any injustice has been done to the family, our government is committed to providing justice.

Puran Kumar, a 2001-batch IPS officer from the Haryana cadre, was 52 years old. He was found dead in the basement of his residence in Sector 11, Chandigarh, on Tuesday, October 7.
A suicide note was found near him, in which he named nearly a dozen current and former officers. He stated that he was a victim of mental harassment, humiliation, and caste-based discrimination by these officers.
