New Delhi: The weather in Delhi-NCR has suddenly changed. Dark clouds have covered the sky and strong winds are blowing.

Meanwhile, drizzle has also started in Palwal and Faridabad in Haryana. The cool breeze has made people feel cold. Furthermore, due to the mild cold experienced over the past several days, people have stopped wearing half-clothes.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for today, Monday. According to the weather department, light to moderate rain and strong winds are expected in Delhi and surrounding areas. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30-40 kmph on Monday. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius.

IMD issued an orange alert

According to the Meteorological Department, this change in weather is due to a powerful western disturbance currently affecting northwest India. Consequently, cloudy skies, rain, and cold winds are expected for the next 48 hours. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Delhi and Gurugram, while a yellow alert remains in effect for Noida and Ghaziabad.

It should be noted that the sun and clouds alternated throughout the day on Sunday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degrees below normal.

The minimum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. The humidity level ranged from 93 to 59 percent.

The Meteorological Department predicts that this change in weather will cause a significant drop in temperatures. The maximum temperature on Monday is expected to be around 29 degrees Celsius. This means that a mild cold snap may begin in Delhi. In the coming days, temperatures will likely decrease, not rise, compared to previous levels.
