New Delhi: The monsoon season is still active across India, and its effect continues to be felt. Heavy rains are falling in many parts of the country. Torrential rains are being recorded in many states from Maharashtra to Meghalaya.
Today, a heavy rain warning has been issued in some areas of southeastern Rajasthan and Gujarat. Also, many parts of eastern Rajasthan can also see heavy rains.
Especially in the northeastern states like Assam and Manipur, there are continuous heavy rain conditions. According to the forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain activities are likely to continue in northwest India till August 26.
Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 23°C. Mumbai's temperature ranged between 29°C and 26°C, while Kolkata recorded a day temperature of 30°C and a night temperature of 26°C. Chennai was the hottest, where the maximum temperature reached 35°C.
Patna and Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 32°C. The weather was pleasant in cities like Ranchi and Bhopal. The coldest weather was recorded in Shimla, where the maximum temperature was just 22°C and the minimum temperature was 17°C, giving a pleasant feeling.
This weather condition is expected to remain in the hilly states, i.e., Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, for the next week, where continuous rains are possible. There is no continuous rain in the capital, Delhi, and its surrounding areas (NCR) at present. Although the sky remained cloudy, the possibility of heavy rain during the day was low.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that till August 27, Delhi and its surrounding areas may receive rain along with thunderstorms. This is expected to give people some relief from humidity and heat.
Residents of Uttar Pradesh were suffering from severe humidity and heat for the last week. Now the Meteorological Department has predicted that people here may get relief from this heat in the next three days.
There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh till August 25. While on one hand this rain will provide relief to people from the heat, on the other hand, problems like waterlogging can also arise in some low-lying areas.
People are also facing humid heat in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many areas here on August 23. The effect of this rain will be double: on the one hand it will reduce the heat and humidity, but on the other hand it can also create conditions like waterlogging and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.
