One terrorist killed as army foils infiltration bid along LoC in Nowshera
Jammu: One terrorist was killed after the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jhangar sector of Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the movement of two terrorists in the general area of Jhangar along the LoC, alert troops of the Army detected suspicious movement at around 3 pm and engaged them, they said.

During the ensuing exchange of fire, one Pakistani-sponsored terrorist was killed, effectively thwarting the infiltration attempt, officials added. Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to track down the second terrorist who is believed to have fled during the encounter.
The Army said troops have been reoriented and a robust operational posture with integrated ground and aerial surveillance has been put in place to ensure strict vigil in the sector. Further details are awaited, officials said.
