Security Forces Engage Terrorists in Kishtwar Operation
Kishtwar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Singhpora area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. According to security sources, at least three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. The encounter is ongoing in a densely forested area where security forces detected the presence of terrorists during a search operation.
The operation is being carried out by a joint team of 17 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), 11 RR, and 2 Para Special Forces. During a cordon and search operation in the Mandral-Singhora area near Sonar village in the afternoon, terrorists opened fire on security forces, prompting retaliatory action.
Security forces cordoned off the entire area as soon as the encounter began. Additional forces have been deployed to the scene to strengthen the operation. Security agencies have appealed to local residents to stay away from the area and not to pay attention to any rumors.
According to sources, the surrounded terrorists may be affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization. However, the number and identity of the terrorists have not yet been officially confirmed. Security agencies say they are continuously monitoring the situation.
Due to the dense forest and difficult terrain, the operation is being carried out cautiously. The primary objective of the security forces is to capture or neutralize the terrorists and maintain peace in the area. Officials stated that more information will be shared as the operation progresses.
