Karnataka CM Row: DK Shivakumar meets Siddaramaiah for breakfast; Congress high command intervenes
Interestingly, this is the second consecutive breakfast meeting between the two leaders. Previously, on Saturday, they had breakfast together at the CM's residence. On Monday, Siddaramaiah had announced that he would visit Shivakumar's home for breakfast on Tuesday, although he also stated that he had not received a formal invitation. Just a few hours later, Shivakumar posted on social media, officially inviting the CM to his home for breakfast.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara described the meeting as positive. He said, "It's a good thing that our two leaders are meeting for breakfast again. We want a peaceful resolution to the dispute that has been going on for the past month. The two leaders are discussing it on the advice of the party high command, and all issues will be resolved."
He also said that everyone has ambitions, but that doesn't mean there's any disagreement.
Speculations of a leadership change have been swirling within the Karnataka Congress for the past few days. It's believed that DK Shivakumar could be appointed Chief Minister under the so-called "two-and-a-half-year" formula.
However, both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have publicly dismissed these speculations. Even after Saturday's meeting, they issued a joint statement denying any confusion regarding a leadership change.
According to media reports, the party high command has indicated that Siddaramaiah will remain in the CM post until the upcoming assembly session.

In a statement on Monday, DK Shivakumar expressed displeasure over media reports. He said, "There is no conflict between me and the Chief Minister. We are working like brothers. You people talk about factionalism, but there is none. I have 140 MLAs with me. When it comes to the party, we are all united. No one needs to worry."
In a social media post, Shivakumar wrote that he and the Chief Minister are working together as a team. He said that efforts to fulfill the state government's promises will be discussed over breakfast.
The frequent meetings between the two leaders are being seen as an attempt by the party leadership to defuse recent tensions.
Although both leaders are projecting a message of unity, there is a growing buzz in political circles that the real purpose of these meetings is to consider the possibility of a change of guard in the coming days. At present, the Congress high command is keeping an eye on the situation, and it has the final authority to take any decision.
