New Delhi: Football icon Lionel Messi, currently on a tour of India, is arriving in New Delhi on Monday. This will be the final stop of his GOAT India Tour 2025. Grand preparations have been made for his arrival in Delhi, especially at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where several events are planned for Messi. His visit to the National Capital is considered highly significant for sports, politics, and young athletes.
A Memorable Second Day in Mumbai
On Sunday, December 14, Messi participated in a special event at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on the second day of his tour. He was accompanied by his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul. Messi's presence at the Wankhede Stadium, which has witnessed many golden moments in Indian cricket, made the atmosphere even more special.
Meeting with PM Modi
Messi is arriving in Delhi today on Monday. He will then participate in a 50-minute 'meet and greet' session at a city hotel, where he will meet selected guests and fans. Following this, the Argentine legend will have a formal meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence for approximately 20 minutes.
Messi's Schedule in Delhi
After meeting the Prime Minister, Messi will meet the Ambassador of Argentina to India, Mariano Agustín Cosentino. Additionally, Messi will also meet the Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, and the Chief of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi. These meetings are considered crucial for strengthening sports and cultural ties between India and Argentina.
Grand Event at Arun Jaitley Stadium
After all the formal meetings, Messi will arrive at the Arun Jaitley Stadium at 3:30 PM. He will receive a grand welcome, followed by a musical performance. Security and Traffic Arrangements
In view of Messi's visit, the Delhi Traffic Police has imposed traffic restrictions in Central Delhi from 10 AM to 5 PM. Parking will be prohibited around the Arun Jaitley Stadium, and vehicles violating the rules will be towed and fined. People are advised to use metro and bus services to avoid congestion.
