Foreign Minister S. In a recent interview with the Financial Times UK, Jaishankar stated that direct dialogue with Iran is the most effective way to facilitate maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that these talks have already yielded some results.
Jaishankar clarified that no "perfect arrangement" has yet been reached for all Indian ships and that the transit of ships is currently being handled on a case-by-case basis.
Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader, confirmed on Saturday that Indian ships would be able to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz. He said, "Absolutely, absolutely. Yes," when asked if Indian ships would be allowed to pass.
