Mathura: On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, massive preparations have been made for the security and arrangements of the devotees in Mathura. More than 5,000 policemen and security forces have been deployed by dividing the city into four zones and 18 sectors.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also attending the ceremony and will plant a sapling along with offering prayers at the Sri Krishna Janmasthan. Apart from this, he will inaugurate schemes related to the development of Mathura and will also honor the saints.
Traffic restrictions and security arrangements
Complete ban on heavy vehicles: The entry of heavy vehicles has been completely stopped during the three-day Krishna festival in Mathura, Vrindavan, and other pilgrimage sites. Ban on two-wheelers and four-wheelers: The movement of two-wheelers and four-wheelers has also been banned in view of the crowd on the roads leading to the temple. Strict checking: Barricades have been put up on every route, where police and PAC personnel are keeping an eye on any suspicious activity.
Strict security rules in the temple
A complete ban has been imposed on carrying several items in the Shri Krishna Janmasthan complex, including:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic device
- Shoes, slippers, bags, umbrellas
- Bidi, cigarette, lighter, or any inflammable material
Special facilities for devotees
The administration has launched a website called "Brajdham.in" for the convenience of devotees, from where they can get the routes, restrictions, and other important information of the temples before coming to Mathura.
Shobha Yatra and festival begin
Krishnotsav began with a grand Shobha Yatra, in which hundreds of folk artists presented the Leelas of Lord Krishna through dance and music. The yatra started from Shri Krishna Janmasthan and passed through the main routes of the city and ended back at the temple premises.
This time the festival of Janmashtami is being celebrated in Mathura with unprecedented security and grandeur. The administration has taken full care of both the convenience and security of the devotees so that this festival can be celebrated with peace and devotion.
