New Delhi: A big plan has been made to stop pollution caused by vehicles in the capital. Under this, strict action will be taken against petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years (whose life has ended) in Delhi. If such vehicles are found filling fuel at petrol pumps or parked in public places, they will be seized.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the owners of these vehicles will also have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for four-wheelers and Rs 5,000 for two-wheelers. They will also have to pay towing and parking charges.

Vehicles like Mercedes and BMW were seized.

A campaign is going on in Delhi today to not give fuel to 10-15-year-old diesel and petrol vehicles and to scrap them. Under this, many two-wheelers ranging from Mercedes have been seized. A man had reached the Ashram petrol pump to fill fuel in his 15-year-old Mercedes, but as soon as he reached, his car was sealed. The owner is very sad due to his luxury car being impounded. The reason for his sadness is that even though his car is 15 years old, it still looks shiny. Similarly, there are many other people who have similar vehicles that are definitely old, but they used them with so much love that they still look like new.

Why are luxury cars being seized?

Amid tight security, the ban on giving petrol and diesel to old vehicles started in Delhi today. The Delhi government has installed automatic number plate reader cameras at about 350 petrol pumps in the national capital to detect such vehicles. The Transport Department has prepared a detailed deployment plan involving personnel from its organization, Delhi Police, Traffic Police, and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Several teams from the Transport Department, Traffic Police, and local police have been deployed at various petrol pumps in South Delhi.

The campaign started at 6 am today, banning the sale of fuel to petrol-powered vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years. Teams of Transport Enforcement and Delhi Traffic Police have been seen deployed at Dhingra Petrol Pump in Chirag Delhi since morning.
