Operation Sindoor still active and India needs soldiers: CDS

New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said on Friday that Operation Sindoor is still active and the country must stay very prepared for military action all the time, day and night, throughout the year.

Army Need Soldier

Speaking at a defence seminar in Subroto Park, he also mentioned that in the future, the Army will need soldiers who are skilled in information, technology, and knowledge. He added that in times of war, soldiers must be well-informed about information, technology, and education.

Aerospace Strategy Programme

The seminar, titled 'Aerospace Power: Preserving India's Sovereignty and Furthering National Interests,' was organized by the 'No.4 Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Programme.' The CDS said no one can be second best in war and that every army must always be ready and watchful.

Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor is an example of this, he said. Our preparation level should be very high, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In response to the terror attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam India launched Operation Sindoor on the morning of May 7 and destroyed several terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Pakistan Launched Aaggressive Attacks

Pakistan also launched aggressive attacks against India and after that all the retaliatory attacks by India were also done under Operation Sindoor. After an agreement was reached on the evening of May 10, the military standoff between the two nuclear-armed nations came to an end.

Modern Era Will Be Different

General Chauhan said that now we need different types of warriors. In which tech warriors will be able to use AI and cyber power. Info warriors will shape the narrative and counter the fake news that is spread. We have to be prepared for all kinds of wars in the coming time, "he said. This is the new definition of war. That is why the wars of the future will be very different.

The CDS also highlighted the importance of understanding both (Shastra) weapons and (Shaastra) religious texts.

Operation Sindoor was started because of a "barbaric" attack by "Pakistan-backed terrorists." The operation aimed to break down terrorist networks and stop terrorists who might be sent to India, the government said on Thursday, July 24. In a written answer to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh also mentioned that India's actions were "focused, measured, and non-escalatory.
