Indian missile strikes deal major blow to Jaish-e-Mohammed; Pakistani Army support revealed
New Delhi: The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22nd killed 26 people, mostly civilians. In response, India launched missile strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) targets in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor on May 7th. These attacks included the JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur.
These attacks killed 10 family members and 4 close associates of JeM chief Masood Azhar. The deceased included Azhar's elder sister, brother-in-law, nephew, wife, niece, and five children. The mother of a close associate and two other associates was also killed in the attack.
Op Sindoor: Pakistan refutes Trump’s claim; Says India rejected third-party mediation offer
A JeM commander, Ilyas Kashmiri, claimed in a video that after the Indian attacks, Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir ordered the Corps Commander of Bahawalpur and soldiers to attend the funerals of JeM terrorists. This order was issued directly from GHQ Rawalpindi.
In the video, Kashmiri says, “After 25 years of struggle, we have brought Pakistan's Army, Air Force, and Navy to the jihadist ideology.”
Ilyas Kashmiri also said that there is no longer any difference between the Pakistan Army and JeM. He claims that the Pakistani Army and Air Force took revenge after the Indian attack. In the video, he says, "Those killed were JeM members, but the Pakistan Army and Air Force took revenge."
Operation Sindoor sends strong message to Pakistan
This video is said to be from the Mission Mustafa Conference held in Punjab province on September 6, where the Kashmiri stood among gunmen. He said, "We waged jihad in Delhi, Kabul, and Kandahar to protect the moral and geographical borders of this country. Now, as a result of our sacrifices, the Pakistani Army is with us."
CDS Gen Anil Chauhan explains why Operation Sindoor was conducted at midnight
It is noteworthy that in 1999, Masood Azhar was released in exchange for the release of passengers from Indian Airlines Flight IC-814. Since then, JeM's headquarters in Bahawalpur has been active, and it has now become the target of India's attack.
This development clearly demonstrates the deep ties between the Pakistani military and terrorist organizations. Organizations like JeM, whose activities are openly violent and anti-India, receive support from the Pakistani military—this is evident from statements made by the JeM commander himself.
Surgical strikes like Operation Sindoor carried out by India not only send a strong message against terrorism but also demonstrate that India is now on the path of direct and decisive action.
