PM Modi Reviews States’ Preparedness Amid West Asia Crisis
New Delhi: Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a crucial meeting with the Chief Ministers of various states this evening. This meeting, held via video conferencing, will review the states' preparedness and plans to deal with the crisis. This is the first time the Prime Minister will directly interact with Chief Ministers since the conflict began in the Gulf region.
According to government sources, the purpose of this meeting is to establish better coordination between the central government and the states. This is being considered an important step in the spirit of 'Team India'. Chief Ministers of states other than those going to polls will participate, while separate meetings will be held with the Chief Secretaries of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry.
The meeting will specifically discuss states' preparedness regarding oil and gas supplies. The West Asian crisis is expected to impact the global energy market, making the role of states crucial. The Prime Minister has already indicated that this crisis could be prolonged, so preparations are essential at every level.
The central government has assured the public that there is no fuel shortage in the country. According to the government, India has sufficient fuel reserves for approximately 60 days. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that crude oil supplies have already been secured, and oil companies have made arrangements for imports.
The government also clarified that despite any disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, India is importing crude oil from more than 40 countries. This has reduced dependence on any one region and ensured continuity in supply.
The government has appealed to the public to ignore rumors spreading about fuel shortages. According to officials, the country's energy supply is completely stable and controlled. In such a situation, there is no need to panic, rather it is important to maintain patience and awareness.
