“Parliament address on the anvil. Who's coming here next week? Narendra Modi,” Netanyahu said, highlighting the significance of the Indian leader’s visit. He described India as “enormously powerful” and praised the growing alliance between the two countries.
This will be Modi’s second visit to Israel. His first trip in July 2017 marked a historic moment, as he became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Jewish state. That visit laid the foundation for a deeper strategic partnership and elevated bilateral ties to new heights.
Over the past few years, India and Israel have expanded cooperation across defence, agriculture, water management, innovation and technology sectors.
Bilateral economic ties have gained momentum with key agreements signed in recent months. During the visit of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to India in September, the two countries signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT), aimed at boosting investor confidence and facilitating cross-border investments.
This was followed by the signing of Terms of Reference (TOR) for a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) during Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s visit to Israel in November last year.

In the same year, both countries signed a landmark agreement to enhance defence, industrial and technological collaboration. The pact enables the sharing of advanced technologies and promotes co-development and co-production initiatives.
With strategic, economic and technological partnerships deepening steadily, Modi’s upcoming visit is expected to further consolidate India-Israel relations and chart a roadmap for future cooperation across key sectors.
