Sadhguru Calls for Skill-Based Education, Less Regulation
New Delhi: On the second day of the INSIGHT: The DNA of Success program, Sadhguru shared his thoughts on India's future, youth potential, the education system, and the startup ecosystem. At the program held at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, he said that the country's demographic dividend will only be fruitful if the young generation is capable, focused, and motivated.
Sadhguru said that India is a young country today, but this situation will not last forever. He cautioned that demographic dividend is limited. He said, "What we call the demographic dividend today could turn into a billion-plus elderly population in 25 years." He believes the future will depend on how the current generation utilizes existing opportunities.

Sadhguru explained that positive changes are visible in rural India, but the pace is not sufficient. He said that the pace of development must be "much higher" to bring about real change in the lives of this generation.
He cited nutrition, education, and easy access to finance for entrepreneurs as prerequisites for rapid development.
According to Sadhguru, the process of obtaining financial assistance to promote entrepreneurship must be simplified. He said, "Finance in the country still moves not through confidence, but through pressure, influence, or corruption. This needs to change."
Sadhguru described the current education system as highly controlled and said that skills should be given more importance than degrees. He said that in the coming years, the world will prioritize competency-based assessment, not certificates.
"In ten years, people will ask—what can you do? What are you skilled at?" He called for free and flexible options in education, calling government boards "dead boards," and suggesting that those with options should adopt a more dynamic education system.

Comparing the startup ecosystem in the US and India, he said that the blow of failure in India is much greater.
"People don't break when they fall there, but in India, a fall cracks their skull."
He emphasized the need for more mature judgment, discretion, and competence in the startup ecosystem.
Sadhguru said that entrepreneurship is not just a means of earning money, but a way to find solutions to societal problems. He urged participants to engage with policymakers and send in monthly suggestions.
