New Delhi: Three historic decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will prove to be a milestone in making India self-reliant and improving the common man's life.
India will become a hub of semiconductors: 4 new units approved.
Till now India had to import chips (semiconductors) from China and Taiwan, but now chips will be made in the country itself. The cabinet has approved setting up four new semiconductor units with an investment of Rs 4,600 crore:
Odisha: 2 units (SiCSem and 3D Glass)
Punjab: 1 unit (CDIL)
Andhra Pradesh: 1 unit (ASIP Technologies)

Domestic production of chips for missiles, electric vehicles, mobile phones, and data centers.

700 MW Hydro Power Project in Arunachal
The Tato-II Hydro Project will be built in the Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs 8,146 crore, which will generate 2,738 million units of electricity every year.

Expansion of Lucknow Metro: Old city will get relief
Phase 1B of Lucknow Metro got approval of Rs 5,801 crore. This 11.165 km route will have 12 stations, which will connect crowded areas like Aminabad, Chowk, and KGMU.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, "Four new semiconductor projects have been approved. 6 such projects have already been approved, and today four new projects have been added to it. These are in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab, which will have an investment of Rs 4,594 crore." He said that Lucknow is a big city. There is a great need for a metro here, so Phase 1B of Lucknow Metro has been approved with an investment of Rs 5,801 crore.
