Two brothers killed after wall collapses
Varanasi: The incident took place in village Bhaithauli under Gosaipur police station of Cholapur police station area. The deceased youths have been identified as Arvind Kumar (18 years) and Ankit Kumar (16 years), sons of Santosh Kumar, resident of Bhaithauli.
Both the brothers had left on a motorcycle on Wednesday morning with saplings for transplanting paddy in the field. On the way, as soon as they reached near the old and dilapidated kutcha house of Dilip Kumar son of Teju Ram, suddenly the kutcha wall of the house collapsed. Both the brothers came under the grip of the same wall and got buried under the debris.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, on hearing the sound of the incident, the people nearby rushed to the spot and immediately started efforts to remove the debris.
With the help of local villagers and relatives, both the youths were pulled out of the debris, but by then it was too late. Both the youths had died on the spot.
The wall suddenly collapsed
On receiving information about the incident, the police team from Gosaipur police station reached the spot and took the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. Also, the police have started investigation by inspecting the spot.
The Cholapur police station in-charge said that according to the primary information, the house was very old and in a dilapidated condition.
Due to the rain for the last few days, the condition of the wall had become weaker, due to which this accident happened.
Chaos in Cholapur
The father of the deceased youths, Santosh Kumar, works as a laborer and his entire family is dependent on farming and hard work. Arvind and Ankit were the only youths in the house who used to help their father in his work. In such a situation, the family is completely shattered by the untimely death of these two brothers.
The villagers have demanded compensation from the administration to the victim's family. The village head and many local people are also appealing to the administration to take cognizance of this incident. There are many old and dilapidated houses in Cholapur area which invite accidents during the rains.
At present, the police have registered a case and further legal action is being taken. At the same time, there is a wave of mourning in the entire village due to this heart-wrenching incident. Preparations are being made for the last rites of the deceased and the villagers are busy consoling the family.
