Temperatures are expected to range from 32-34 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 23-25 degrees Celsius for the minimum in the next couple of days.
However this continuous heavy to moderate downpour also caused waterlogging in several areas of the National Capital throwing life out of gear.
Monsoon Mood On Sunday
The mood of the weather changed on Sunday evening in Delhi and many surrounding areas and it started raining heavily. On one hand, the rain brought relief to the people from humidity and heat, on the other hand, the rain jammed the wheels of vehicles. According to the Dynamite News correspondent, according to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Delhi is likely to remain between 32-34 degrees till July 17.
Waterlogging At Various Places
According to the information, waterlogging occurred in many areas of Delhi due to rain. Waterlogging was seen at major places like Vikas Marg, Minto Road, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Safdarjung Enclave, Greater Kailash, Janakpuri, India Gate, Dhaula Kuan, Nehru Place, and Chirag Delhi. At the same time, many vehicles drowned in water due to waterlogging on Minto Road, while traffic was affected on Vikas Marg.
Waterlogging in underpasses and low-lying areas resulted in vehicles coming to a halt and people facing inconvenience.
The rain led to traffic jams in various parts of Delhi. Delhi Traffic Police advised traffic diversion due to waterlogging on Minto Road and Rohtak Road. Commuters were advised to use alternate routes to avoid the jam.
IMD Forecast
IMD has forecast rain or heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms in Delhi and NCR every day from July 12 to July 17. There may be a slight increase in the maximum temperature in the next two days, due to which heat and humidity can be quite troublesome.
