New Delhi: Massive rains have wreaked havoc across the country, which has wreaked havoc from Himachal Pradesh to Gujarat. Heavy rains, floods and landslides have made life difficult for the people. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in many states on Friday, 27 June, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Heavy rains have covered most parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.

The pace of monsoon has slowed down in Uttar Pradesh, raising concerns. Nevertheless, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in some areas for the next five days. The Meteorological Department has asked people to be cautious.
Due to the activity of monsoon in Bihar, there is a danger of heavy rain and thunderstorms. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in West Champaran, Khagaria, Begusarai, Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Kishanganj, Katihar, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Araria and Purnia. There is a possibility of lightning along with heavy rain in these districts, for which people have been advised to be alert.
The Kanchen Ganga river in Buldhana, Maharashtra is in spate, causing waterlogging on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway. Roads and houses were flooded up to knee level, many vehicles were submerged and shops were damaged. Yellow alert is issued in Raigad, Mumbai, Thane and Palghar, while heavy rain warning has been issued in Mumbai. Waterlogging situation persists in rural areas due to overflowing of rivers.
Rajasthan's Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi, Udaipur, Dausa, Ajmer, Tonk and Sawaimadhopur are likely to receive rain with lightning and thunder on Friday morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in these areas.
Himachal Pradesh's Dharamsala suffered heavy losses due to cloudburst. The bodies of five workers of the hydro power project were recovered in the flash flood, while the search for others is on. Landslides occurred after torrential rains in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, stopping the pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham.
There is a waterlogging situation in Ahmedabad, Surat and Navsari of Gujarat due to heavy rains. The temples got submerged due to the rising waters of the Cauvery river and the administration has warned people not to go near the river. There was a traffic jam on Jammu's Doda-Bhaderwah highway due to floods and debris, but the administration restored traffic. In Kathua, two boys were rescued by the SDRF after they got stuck in the river.
