Mixed weather across India due to monsoon
New Delhi: The southwest monsoon is now set to withdraw from India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), by September 24th, it had already withdrawn from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The monsoon is expected to withdraw from more areas in the next two to three days. With this, heat and humidity are set to increase again in many parts of the country.
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain largely clear in Delhi and NCR today. Temperatures:
Maximum temperature: around 35 degrees Celsius
Minimum temperature: around 23 degrees Celsius
Wind speeds will slow down during the evening and night, with winds blowing from the west at speeds of less than 15 kilometers per hour.
The weather won't change much on September 26th and 27th either. Although some areas may experience partly cloudy skies on the 27th, no rain is forecast.
IMD issues alert for several cities
There has been no rain in Uttar Pradesh for the past few days, leading to increased heat and humidity in most parts of the state. However, the Meteorological Department predicts that around September 26th, light rain may occur in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bundelkhand.
No heavy rain warning has been issued for any area across the state. This rain may be caused by the formation of a new low-pressure area.
The monsoon's pace has slowed in Uttarakhand. After the rains stopped, the sun became stronger, and a humid heat wasfelt during the day. Light drizzle is expected in seven districts, including Dehradun, but the rest of the state is expected to remain dry.
