CBSE Admits Class 12 Answer Sheet Mix-Up After Student Complaints (Img: Internet)
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education which is also known as the Central Board of Secondary Education has found out that there were some mistakes in the way they checked the Class 12 Physics and Chemistry answer sheets. This happened after a lot of students said that the answer sheets they got to see during the re-checking process did not belong to them.
The Central Board of Secondary Education then shared the answer sheets with the students who were affected by this mistake and they told these students that their marks would be changed to reflect the correct answers.
This issue became news on social media because students were saying that the answer sheets that the Central Board of Secondary Education put online during the verification process were not theirs. A lot of students said that the handwriting and answers on these sheets were completely different from what they had written during the exam.
One student who had complained about his Physics answer sheet said on X that people from the Central Board of Secondary Education got in touch with him and then gave him the answer sheet. This student said that the Central Board of Secondary Education admitted that they had mixed up the answer sheets.
Another student who had found mistakes in her Chemistry paper also got a response from the Central Board of Secondary Education. She said that the Central Board of Secondary Education acknowledged the problem and told her that they would do something about it.
This issue has made people talk more about how fair and open the Central Board of Secondary Education's when it comes to checking and re-checking answers for the 2025-26 school year.
This issue also got the attention of politicians when the Chief Minister of Kerala V D Satheesan wrote to the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan about the complaints from students about their Class 12 results and the re-checking process. The Chief Minister of Kerala posted on X that he wanted something to be done away to make sure that everything is fair and that the students complaints are resolved quickly.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has started the process for Class 12 students to check their marks and re-evaluate their answers from May 26, to May 29 2026. Students can do this through the website of the Central Board of Secondary Education which is cbse.gov.in.
Only students who have already gotten copies of their answer sheets can ask for their marks to be checked again or for their answers to be re-evaluated. The Central Board of Secondary Education has also said that the students marks may go up or down after they re-check and that the final result will be final and cannot be changed again.
