Akhilesh Yadav announces Rs 5 lakh aid in Ghazipur case
Ghazipur: In the case related to the death of Nisha Vishwakarma in Ghazipur, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the victim’s family and assured full support in their demand for justice. He also said he will personally visit Ghazipur on April 29 to meet the family.
Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav stated that the party stands with the bereaved family in this difficult time and will ensure they receive both help and justice. He added that a party delegation has already been sent to Katariya village in Ghazipur and a senior team will accompany him during his upcoming visit.
Investigation in the Case
The case involves the death of Nisha Vishwakarma, a resident of Karanda area in Ghazipur district, whose body was found under suspicious circumstances. Initial allegations of sexual assault were not supported by the post-mortem report, which found no evidence of internal injuries.
CCTV footage reviewed during the investigation reportedly shows the victim walking alone towards a river around 2:00 AM, which police consider an important lead in the case.
Police have arrested the main accused, Hariom Pandey, who is currently in judicial custody. Another accused, Abhishek Pandey, is being questioned. Investigators are also examining digital evidence, including a final message allegedly sent to the victim.
Rising Tension and Political Response
Following the incident, tension has grown in Katariya village, with residents demanding strict action and justice. Security has been increased in the area ahead of the Samajwadi Party delegation’s visit.
Akhilesh Yadav also criticized the state government, claiming that crimes against women have increased. He further said that if his party comes to power, timely payment to sugarcane farmers would be ensured within 24 hours.
With political attention growing around the case, all eyes are now on April 29, when Akhilesh Yadav is expected to meet the victim’s family in Ghazipur.
