Hyderabad: Telangana's Suryapet district witnessed a tragic road accident early Wednesday morning when a private electric bus collided with a moving truck, leaving six passengers dead and several others injured. The accident occurred on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route, creating panic among passengers and locals.

According to police officials, the bus operated by Fresh Bus was carrying 43 passengers when it met with the accident near Durgapuram stage in Suryapet district. The collision took place at around 5:20 am, when the bus travelling towards Vijayawada rammed into a truck.

Injured Passengers Shifted to Hospitals

Following the accident, emergency teams and local authorities rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. The injured passengers were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Officials confirmed that the bodies of the deceased passengers were shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The identities of the victims and further details regarding their families are being verified by authorities.

Investigation Underway to Find Accident Cause

Police have started an investigation to determine the exact reason behind the collision. Officials are examining various factors, including road conditions, vehicle speed and the circumstances that led to the bus crashing into the truck.

Authorities are also collecting statements from survivors and witnesses to understand how the accident occurred during the early morning hours.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Expresses Grief

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the Suryapet road accident. He directed officials to ensure immediate medical assistance for the injured passengers and provide necessary support to the families of those who died.

The Chief Minister also instructed the Chief Secretary to monitor relief and rescue measures and ensure that the injured receive the best possible treatment.

Road accidents involving passenger vehicles have raised concerns over highway safety, highlighting the need for stricter safety measures, driver monitoring and improved traffic management on busy routes.
